Implode: To collapse inward!
This is exactly what is happening down at my beloved alma mater... STCC... I loved my time at STCC so much, I have enrolled the man-child there... NOW?? Now, I'm not so sure I made the right choice for him...
Here is the latest in the in-fighting going on on campus: STCC: Campus safe
Frankly... I don't care if the fighting is justified... if it's the crime rate that caused the dip in enrollment... if it was the new President that caused it... if STCC made the right choice of a CT Marketing firm... and I sure as hell don't care that STCC has changed their logo! What I do care about is "How well they are getting the job of educating my son done?" and frankly... if your spending time drafting a 2-page "scathing" letter to the President... not to mention the contract negotiations... the budget cuts... the firing of 5 administrators... the increase in tuition... the work-to-rule crap... getting security to escort fired employees off campus... the city being pissed about the statement that it's the crime rate that caused enrollment to drop...
I'm afraid the answer is probably "NOT VERY WELL!"
Well... pre-registration for next semester begins in a week or so... I tell you... I'm more than a little reluctant to re-up the kid on a campus that can't get it's own politics squared away! It's all just another entry on the side of "cutting and running" on the "Register at STCC" spreadsheet!
